This course goes into great detail acclimating the permit applicant to the procedures when attaining a building permit in accordance with Minnesota Rule 1300. The intent is to analyze this process for the student to become efficient at it and thus streamlining the process for the permit applicant.

Greg is the owner of Code Educational Opportunities and has an extensive background in developing and presenting all types of building code and related courses. Most recently, he was a building official for the City of Winona, MN. As a staff Instructor with the International Code Council and as a building code representative with the State of Minnesota Codes and Standards Division, He has traveled locally, throughout the United States, and abroad providing training to contractors, building officials and inspectors, design professionals, and other individuals with a vested interest in the codes. Greg served as an adjunct faculty in the Building Inspection Technology program at Inver Hills Community College in MN. In previous career paths, he has worked in the lumber industry, truss industry, and as a general contractor. Greg holds certifications as an ICC and State of MN Certified Building Official, ICC Plans Examiner, ICC Building Inspector, and ICC Building Code Specialist. Greg holds a certificate of completion in the Building Inspection Technology program as well as background and education in the architectural drafting field.
