Description

Rain is one of the most important things to control in wall construction for both a building’s structural integrity and the occupants’ health. This one-hour course will discuss the basic building science of moisture management, and dive into the necessary components in a rain screen wall assembly. Students will gain a better understanding of current exterior cladding options and proper installation of an exterior composite wall panel rainscreen assembly. The instructors will present this live course from an offsite location.

  • Identify basic components and their function in a rain screen wall system
  • Compare and contrast the suitability of wood-plastic composite (WPC) for rain screen cladding
  • Apply basic installation principles for residential and commercial wall systems

In-Person Course Requirements

In order to earn CE credit(s) for in-person courses, students must attend the entire course during the time span(s) listed. Credit(s) will not be issued for the following:

  • Non-attendance
  • Arriving more than 5 minutes after a course has begun
  • Leaving before completion of the course
  • Leaving the classroom for more than 5 minutes during a course hour
  • Non-payment of the course
  • Failure to sign-in and/or sign-out

Students must sign-in/sign-out, and be prepared to show their driver’s license or other legal identification with their photo if requested.

A quiz is not required for those attending for Minnesota contractor, building official, and Realtor continuing education, or Wisconsin continuing education. Students attending for International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) CEU(s) must complete a quiz following the course and achieve 70% correct answers.


Credit Info

This course has been approved for one hour of MN residential contractor, remodeler, and building official continuing education by the Minnesota Department of Labor & Industry. This course has also been approved for one hours of WI Dwelling Contractor Qualifier CE by the Wisconsin Dept. of Safety & Professional Services. 

If you are eligible to receive continuing education credits, your information will be electronically reported to the appropriate agency within 3 business days of course completion.

A quiz is not required for those attending for Minnesota contractor, building official, and Realtor continuing education, or Wisconsin continuing education. Professionally, he has been on the manufacturing side of the building materials industry for a decade. Currently, Matt supports the sales team with their efforts within the architectural and builder community.

Nick grew up watching his dad craft ornate custom cabinetry in the basement of his childhood home. From these basic principles he developed an eye for architectural detail. He attended and graduated from CSU Sacramento where he learned the business side of the construction. He has held various roles in building materials sales, including: the dealer and distributor environments, as well as representing 2 different manufacturers of wood-plastic composites. In his current role, Nick engages primarily with the architect community to drive specifications for Fiberon Wildwood Cladding.
